This Privacy Policy describes how POKI.LOVE ("we", "us", "the site") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit poki.love and any subdomain or page we operate. By using the site you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information, either directly from you or automatically through your browser and our vendors:
- Log data. IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time stamps, and approximate geolocation derived from your IP. We retain log data for up to 90 days for security and analytics.
- Cookies & similar trackers. First-party session cookies, third-party cookies set by Google (AdSense, AdX, Analytics), and any future vendor we onboard. See section 4 for details.
- Voluntary information. Anything you send us — newsletter signups, email tips, account registration in the future. We collect what you type, no more.
- User content. Comments, reactions, or other user-generated content if and when these features are enabled. Each post is tied to whatever identifier you log in with (or to your IP if anonymous).
2. How We Use Information
We use the information above for the following purposes:
- To deliver, maintain, secure and improve the site.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To measure traffic and ad performance via aggregated analytics.
- To serve advertising that is relevant to your apparent interests (see section 5).
- To respond to your emails, tips, takedown notices and rights requests.
- To comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
We do not sell raw personal information for money. Where third parties (advertisers, analytics providers) receive data through cookies, that is described in the vendor's own policy, not ours.
3. Legal Bases (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we process your information under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Consent. You have given clear consent for us to store or access information on your device (e.g. via the cookie banner).
- Legitimate interests. Processing is necessary for our legitimate interests (running and securing the site, measuring aggregated traffic), and those interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights.
- Legal obligation. Processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. We use the following categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the site to function — session integrity, language preference, security tokens. Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies. Set by us (or by Google Analytics) to measure aggregated traffic. Disabled by default if you opt out via the cookie banner or your browser's Do-Not-Track signal.
- Advertising cookies. Set by Google AdSense / AdX and their demand partners to build an interest profile and measure ad performance. Disabled by default if you opt out.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, the in-site cookie banner (when present), and the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on. Disabling certain cookies may break site functionality or cause advertising to display less relevantly.

5. Third-Party Vendors & Advertising
To keep the lights on, POKI.LOVE monetises through programmatic advertising. Our current vendor stack includes:
- Google AdSense & Google Ad Exchange (AdX). Display, in-article and in-feed ad serving. Vendors may set and read cookies for ad personalisation, frequency capping, and measurement. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Google Analytics. Aggregated, IP-anonymised traffic analytics. We have enabled IP anonymisation and disabled advertising features in GA where possible.
- CDN / hosting. Static and edge resources delivered by a managed CDN. Logs are retained by the CDN provider per their own retention policy.
We do not control the practices of third-party vendors. Each operates under its own terms and privacy policy, and we encourage you to read them.
6. Your Rights (GDPR · CCPA · UK GDPR)
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
- Access. Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification. Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten"). Ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Restriction. Ask us to limit how we process your data.
- Portability. Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection. Object to processing based on legitimate interests, including profiling.
- Opt-out of sale (California). Under the CCPA/CPRA, you may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money; the closest analogue is advertising cookies, which you can disable at Google Ads Settings or via the in-site cookie banner.
- Withdraw consent. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
- Lodge a complaint. With your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@poki.love with the subject PRIVACY REQUEST. We respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
POKI.LOVE is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, write to support@poki.love and we will delete it within 7 days.
8. International Data Transfers
POKI.LOVE is operated from servers in multiple regions. By using the site, you understand your information may be transferred to, stored and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards approved by your local authority.
9. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards — TLS encryption in transit, scoped access controls, and short retention windows — to protect your information. No system is 100% secure; if we discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
10. Links to Other Sites
Our articles link out to publisher sites, store pages, and trailers on third-party platforms (YouTube, Twitch, Steam, etc.). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Read their policies before submitting personal information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where the change is material, post a banner on the homepage for at least 14 days. Your continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
